Oh, I’m chortling. Been there, had that done to me. Samantha never made a mark on the once, except once by accident and she cried over that. On the other hand, Daniel couldn’t NOT write on the wall. We hid all pencils, crayons, etc. and he discovered that a penny would make a mark. When we finally removed everything he could pick up, he would go to the wall, hold his thumb and forefinger together and PRETEND to write on the wall. This was when we were in an apartment down here in 1991. When we were trying to clean up for the move-out inspection, it looked like we had wainscoting by Jackson Pollack! I could have wrung his next then, but it’s very funny now. He’ll be 20 on Monday … and he still doodles, just not on the walls.
No Samantha never marked on a wall, but when Daniel was about 3 months old, we found him with ink lines all over his face, obviously from a ball-point pen. “Samantha, did you mark on Daniel’s face?”
“Yes.”
“Why in God’s name did you mark on your brother’s face?”
“Because I didn’t have any paper.”
How can you argue with that logic? Good luck, guys.
Love
Dan
